Stella Shank has worked at The Regency Assisted Living in Glen Cove for almost 30 years in various capacities, including Director of Special Projects, Case Manager, Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, and now the Executive Director. Stella is well known in the geriatric field and has assisted many families in choosing The Regency as the home for their loved ones. Stella has been working with the Mayor’s Office to help plan the Annual Glen Cove Senior Day for the last 15 years. She is also an Executive Board Member of The Woman’s Club of Glen Cove. Stella was appointed committee chairperson of the Age Friendly Glen Cove Organization, helping the city become more accessible to all seniors. Stella has been a Glen Cove Chamber member for almost 30 years, even assisting and hosting the 1st Annual Culinary Delights at The Regency. She was recently named the Businessperson of the Year for 2024, awarded by the Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce. Stella’s testament to her success is her remarkable TEAM and keeping a family-like community within the community– “Happy Staff, Happy Residents!” She loves all that she does, especially her work with seniors.
Amanda lives in Locust Valley, and as been a Case Manager and Discharge Planner for over 10 years in nursing and rehabilitation centers. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Fordham University in 2006 and started working in nursing homes shortly after. Throughout the years, Amanda has gained vast experience in the healthcare industry. Her drive and understanding of the senior population helps her to ensure the residents and their loved ones receive the highest quality of care possible. She thrives on helping others and does it all with a smile.
Mitchell Chodes grew up in Jericho and has lived on Long Island his entire life. He graduated with a degree in hotel and hospitality management from the New York Institute of Technology. Mitchell spent the last 30 years in event and catering management, and as a liaison to the community. He is singularly focused on the needs of our residents, and takes pride in helping seniors and their families make decisions that support the highest possible quality of life.
Erica is no stranger to The Regency team, as she recently celebrated her 21st anniversary working here. She has had many roles at The Regency, including Recreation Director for over 15 years. Erica’s positive attitude, creativity, leadership, and love for our residents are the qualities needed to be a successful Safe Harbor Director.
Erica is a jack of all trades and compliments our wonderful and loving Safe Harbor staff. Together, they have been able to give support to the residents and families while adding a zest of fun to everyday life. “She is a ray of sunshine. Her energy is exactly what the residents need!” Chef Pat Marone shared.
